Understanding the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)
Charter rates are the base fee for use of the yacht and crew. Running costs — fuel, food and beverages, marina fees, port taxes, and water toys consumables — are covered separately by the APA. The APA is typically budgeted at 25–35% of the base weekly charter rate and is paid in advance. Any unspent balance is refunded at the end of the charter; any overspend is settled from the APA account with full receipts.

A luxury yacht charter is the private, exclusive hire of a crewed yacht for a set period — typically a day, a week, or longer. Unlike a cruise ship, a chartered yacht is entirely yours: you set the itinerary, the pace, and the guest list. A professional captain, chef, and crew are included, managing navigation, cuisine, and all onboard service while you enjoy the experience.
“Superyacht” typically refers to privately owned vessels of 24 meters (79 feet) and above that are available for charter. Charter & Dreams’ main activity is luxury superyacht charter for full weeks (typically 3 to 7 days, though we also arrange longer charters). On an occasional basis — and only when there is a gap in availability between two weekly bookings — we may offer a day charter on selected yachts, always luxury vessels, starting from €7,000–10,000 per day.
The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid fund that covers all running costs during the charter — fuel, provisioning, marina fees, port taxes, and crew gratuity. It is held by the captain and managed transparently with full receipts. Any unspent APA is refunded at the end of the charter; any overspend is settled from the APA account.
