Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria Yacht Charter
Gran Canaria is the third-largest island in the Canaries’ archipelago, but accounts for almost half the population of all the islands. Considered by some a mini continent, the terrain of this island is spectacular. Ranging from lush green forests in the north, mountainous interiors to the desert of the south, you truly experience the complete package.
The capital of Las Palmas is a bustling center with plenty of restaurants and a nightlife that will leave you wanting more. With three harbors, positioned on either side by two beaches, it is also an ideal location to arrive by yacht and to step off board to discover the island by foot. Sailing down the coast, you can witness the peaking mountain tops towering fiercely over the Atlantic as you cruise along the island.
Puerto Mogan, a small fishing town in the south has an inviting energy, a unique mediterranean vibe and a pleasurable marina. Decorated in colorful houses, mountainous terrain, lush foliage, and snaking sea water canals which take you through the town to the port, it is delightfully nicknamed ¨Little Venice¨. Where desert-like formations meet the Atlantic, the legendary Maspaloma Dunes of Gran Canaria are unique to the island. Partake in water sports in the pristine waters of the coast or take a camel ride along coast of the famous sandy dunes where the clear blue atlantic waters greets you.
Gran Canaria is a lot more than just endless beaches: with it’s plentiful archaeological sites scattered throughout the island stand to demonstrate the island’s vibrant past. The Museum and Archaeological Site of The Painted Cave, Arteara Necropolis prehistoric burial ground, and the archeological park of Cenobio de Valerón are some of the most impressively well-preserved sites that truly highlight the historical past of the island. Fierce, glorious, unique and absolutely golden, Gran Canaria is everything you expect it to be.
